Quality Control Specialist

This position is ideal for someone who is looking to continue and enhance their career in Food Safety, Quality Control/Quality Assurance. Ideal candidate has a strong sanitation background and is availability to work overnight controlling and directing employees of third party cleaning company.

Reports to: Food Safety and Hygiene Supervisors and Regional Quality Assurance Manager

Responsibilities

  • Be part of an energetic team, creating gourmet products served to thousands of passengers daily, on the World’s best International Airlines
  • Perform Assigned Daily, Weekly and Monthly Hygiene/Food Safety Tasks based on Hygiene Controller Manual and Company Global Food Safety Manual
  • Help ensure quality and hygiene standards are met for food, beverage, ingredients, and merchandise and supply items prepared and distributed to our airline clients
  • Responsible for ensuring quality assurance and product/food safety and regulatory compliance, adhering to local, state, federal, international environmental, health and food safety regulations
  • Train employees, provide coaching on hygiene and safety matters
  • Provide support before/at customer audits, health department inspections, training and consultations and ensure employees understand and comply with applicable standards
  • Food storage control and food wastage control
  • Support with pest control management
  • Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook
  • Report problems with the food safety management system to their Supervisor and Manager and the hygiene and food safety team
  • Perform the daily pre-operation inspection, record and log
  • Manage overnight deep cleaning, supervision and sanitation program and verification
  • Provides training to sanitation and operations staff on proper cleaning techniques and sanitation procedures. Enforces all company policies and procedures
  • Manages Sanitation procedures and policies in accordance with regulatory and food safety Management System as well as client requirements.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and review Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
  • Analyzes sanitation data in order to identify trends and continual improvement opportunities
  • Maintain a systematic procedure for all actions necessary to ensure that the facility is free from conditions that may cause product contamination or adulteration
  • Manages the sanitation inventory of chemicals and tools. Complies with Safety Data Sheet requirements in the handling of chemicals and proper use of PPE ensuring Sanitation team members are trained upon hire and annually thereafter

Qualifications

  • Work experience in a hospitality, food production environment, catering establishment within floor monitoring, food safety and quality parameters.
  • Strong experience in Food Facility Sanitation
  • Good knowledge and experience of Food Facility Cleaning Chemicals and Handling
  • Good Knowledge and experience in Cleaning Verification in a Food Facility.
  • Ability to multi-task, work well in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with individuals in different functions
  • Passion for working within an international team
  • Work Experience in QA/QC department or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of HACCP, and other Food Safety Related Trainings will be an added advantage
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated, professional work ethic & service-oriented and a hands-on approach
  • Good computer skills required (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A minimum of High School Certificate and/or Technical/Vocational Education
  • Flexibility (different shifts – early morning, evening, weekends, holidays)
