Food Safety & Hygiene Manager


  • Be part of an energetic team, creating gourmet products served to thousands of passengers daily, on the World’s best International Airlines
  • Assist in the overall implementation of standardized food safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (Federal, State/Provincial, and Local).
  • Assist in establishing tools and reporting metrics for Key Food Safety Performance Indicators (KPIs) to execute the recall process with DO & CO’s suppliers and customers to ensure execution of recalls and completion of related documentation.
  • Manage the Food Safety Team and ensure that processes needed for the FSMS are established, implemented, and maintained
  • Leads, provides support and direction as required by means of audits, inspections, trainings and consultations to ensure understanding and compliance with applicable standards
  • Lead the development / execution of plant equipment cleaning / sanitation and environmental monitoring programs
  • Manage investigations, analyses and reporting of quality issues all while being able to identify root causes and take necessary actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety (HACCP, SOP, PRP, OPRP, etc.) by working closely with unit managers to focus on key issues and the success of the company overall and the based unit
  • Assess suppliers to ensure the mentioned above is never jeopardized and work closely with department managers to ensure effective implementation of new products or new practices
  • Monitoring of all integrated programs to assure that quality and regulatory compliance standards are met for food, beverage, ingredients, merchandise and supply items manufactured, distributed and sold by company
  • Oversees training and development of staff directly and/or indirectly and provides coaching, direction and leadership support
  • Conduct disciplinary write-ups as appropriate for failure to adhere to safety requirements.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management


  • Min. 6 years of work experience in food safety/manufacturing.
  • Experience in food manufacturing in the Technical and Quality function. 4+ years of experience preferred.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must pay meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in a SQF, BRC, or ISO Certified facility strongly preferred
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills a must
  • Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Dedication and attention to detail with regards to customer service
  • Solution seeker and effective decision maker
  • The ability to manage quickly to overcome any deficiencies in the respective departments
  • Proficient computer skills (Particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Flexibility (different shifts – days, night, weekends, holidays)
