For the team at our Airline Catering site based in Heathrow we are looking for a motivated

Lounge Manager (f/m)

Your responsibilities

  • Manage lounge staff and ensure high quality service is provided at all times
  • Check with passengers to ensure a joyful stay at the lounge
  • Immediately follow up on any issues, queries or complaints and report them to Head of Operations, with potential solutions
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, describe ingredients and cooking methods, recommend specials or signature dishes
  • Removal of dishes that do not meet standards and ensure follow through to a resolution
  • Anticipate customers’ needs by proposing additional meals and/or drinks with the ability to recommend and describe
  • Check preparations for the next day the end of the night shift and instruct hostesses
  • Coordinate and plan production to ensure a full buffet throughout the day, but avoid wastage at the end of the day by overproduction
  • Responsible for staff schedules, management of staff holiday and sickness procedures as well as instruction for shift plan changes or extended working hours due to flight delays
  • Responsible to file informative shift reports, necessary paperwork and adherence to hygiene standards
  • Checking the quality, quantity and temperature of incoming goods and ensure that they are stored correctly and report in case of failing goods
  • Ensure staff uniform is to company standards at all times
  • Planning buffet set up in line with company standards
  • Coordinate and manage in detail lounge stock.

Candidate profile

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in a similar position or hotel industry, or equivalent EU working experience
  • Excellent English skills (verbal & written)
  • Extensive F&B knowledge
  • HACCP knowledge
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Flexibility in shifts and working hours
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Accountability, entrepreneurial thinking and pro-active attitude
  • Interest to learn and teach new tasks
